First and foremost may we take this opportunity to thank you for your valued custom and to wish you all the very best for the New Year
As a company we pride ourselves on the service and quality of products that we supply, and the loyalty of our customers. Whilst we appreciate that any mention of a price increase is never good news, I’m afraid to inform you that we have had no option but to increase our prices effective from open of business 1st January 2019. As an industry we are now under increased pressure from raw material pricing and other associated costs, as well as Brexit uncertainty and the value of the pound. Therefore, we write to inform you of a 5% price increase applied to Tec glue guns and Tecbond adhesives effective for all orders dispatched & invoiced from 1st January 2019
To go some way to explain, the contract price for ethylene, which is a component raw material for the majority of the Tecbond adhesives, has risen by about 40% in the past 24 months in Europe. Equally, the price of propylene by a massive 70%, butadiene has almost doubled, and styrene has increased by around 30%. The landed costs for the typical raw materials for the production of thermoplastic hot-melt adhesives – EVA polymers, polyolefines, resins and waxes – have also increased significantly over the same period
We place a lot of emphasis on the quality of our products & services, and would never wish to knowingly compromise on either, which is why our only recourse is to increase our pricing in order to continue the high quality service and product supply which we always strive to achieve
If you wish to take advantage and beat the increase, please can you place your orders ASAP for December delivery to allow stock to be balanced to meet demand
Thank you in anticipation for understanding that this price increase means that we can continue to maintain the superior standard of our products and services. We look forward to continuing working together going forward
